SjekkScore: Norway's New Platform for Comparing Local Services

March 20, 202610 min read

How do you choose a dentist, tire dealer, or auto shop? Most people google it, read a few reviews, and hope for the best. But reviews alone rarely paint a complete picture of quality, price, and availability. SjekkScore was built to give Norwegian consumers an objective, data-driven overview of local services, so you can make informed choices based on what actually matters.

The Problem: Choosing Local Services Blindly

Whether you are looking for a dentist in Oslo, a tire dealer in Bergen, or an auto shop in Trondheim, you face the same challenges. The market is fragmented, information is scattered, and there are few objective comparison tools.

Challenges Norwegian consumers face

  • Prices are rarely comparable between providers, and many do not show prices at all
  • Reviews give an impression, but do not tell the full story about quality and service
  • There is no standardized quality measurement across industries
  • Location-based search gives many results, but little quality information you can trust

What is SjekkScore?

SjekkScore is an independent comparison platform for local services in Norway. The platform is built by Adaptify with one clear intention: to give Norwegian consumers and businesses an objective, data-driven tool for finding the best provider in their industry.

No paid placement. No sponsored results. Everyone is evaluated using the same transparent methodology, regardless of industry. By combining data from Google reviews, price checks, website analysis, and service mapping, we have created a comprehensive score from 0 to 100 for each business. SjekkScore.no

78How the Scoring System Works

Each business receives a score from 0 to 100 based on four categories. The weighting is designed to reflect what consumers value most. The categories are adapted for each industry, but the overall structure remains the same:

Customer Satisfaction

40%

Based on Google reviews with Bayesian averaging that ensures fair results regardless of the number of ratings. Volume bonus rewards businesses with a broad customer base.

Price Transparency

20%

Evaluates whether the business shows prices publicly, how detailed the prices are, and whether they cover the most common services in their industry.

Digital Presence

20%

Checks whether the business has a functioning website with SSL, mobile optimization, online booking, and an updated Google Business Profile.

Service Offering

20%

Maps the breadth and depth of services the business offers, adapted to what is relevant for the given industry.

What Does the Score Mean?

80–100
Excellent

Outstanding business with high customer satisfaction, transparent prices, and broad service offering.

60–79
Good

Solid business that performs well in most areas.

40–59
Average

Acceptable level, but with clear room for improvement.

0–39
Poor

The business has significant shortcomings and should improve in several areas.

First Vertical: Tire Dealers

SjekkScore launched with tire dealers as its first industry. With a fragmented market where tire change prices range from 185 to over 2,149 NOK, the need for an independent comparison tool was clear.

Consumers can now compare tire dealers in their city based on overall score, price, number of reviews, and service offering. Everything from tire changes and tire storage to wheel alignment and TPMS is mapped.

Next Step: Dental Clinics

We have already mapped 2,546 dental clinics in Norway by combining data from the Brønnøysund Register and Google Places. The scoring model is being adapted to the unique needs of the dental industry, where factors such as specialist treatments, price openness, and availability for new patients are weighted.

The goal is to make it just as easy to find a good dentist as it is to find a good tire dealer. When dental clinics launch on SjekkScore, consumers will be able to compare clinics in their city based on quality, price, and availability. Read more about our methodology

What Can Businesses Do on SjekkScore?

SjekkScore is not just for consumers. Businesses can take active ownership of their profile and use the platform to reach customers who are actively comparing providers.

  • Claim your profile and update information about services, prices, and opening hours
  • Showcase your service offering and let customers see what makes you unique
  • Gain visibility among customers actively searching for the best provider
  • Fair competition: the score is purely algorithmic, no paid placement

The Road Ahead: Auto Shops, Hair Salons, and Driving Schools

SjekkScore is built as a platform that can scale to new industries using the same transparent methodology. After tire dealers and dental clinics, auto shops, hair salons, and driving schools are next. The vision is simple: give Norwegian consumers objective information that makes it easier to choose the right provider, regardless of industry.
